“Real Africa experience in a awesome luxury bush camp”
What our guests say:
From 4×4 forum: “We stayed in the two cottages of Malama Umoyo. We were warmly welcomed by Menno Witteveen and his team. We all loved it, a perfect African experience. We especially loved the thoughtful, comfortable and luxurious chalets called Adam and Eve; the unbeatable amazing view over the Luangwa River, our conversation constantly being interrupted by the sounds of the hippos, the elephants passing in front of the cottages during the night and the personal care and attention that we received from Menno and his team. Definitely recommendable.”
“We are still talking about our favorite place that we visited. Ah, it looks like absolute paradise, Malama was a place right out of heaven“. (D. Roux, RSA)
“We have seen numerous campsites and cottages throughout Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana. This was definitely one in our top 3.” (Allan Parker, CA, USA)
“Away from the busy and touristic area of the South Luangwa National Park, Malama is a real nest in the African bush. Stunning views of the river, wildlife, brand new beautiful chalet and facilities. Everything there is genuine and real. No one else in this area offers this. You feel like there is only you……and there is! A safari should be about Africa only. This is what Malama is about.” (Jerome Hugonot, Australia)

“Paradise in the African bush
My parents and I stayed at Malama Umoyo for three nights in September 2017. Before our arrival the owners had sent us numerous messages with information about the area, activities we could partake in, what we could expect and what we needed to bring. All our questions were answered and they helped us with everything we needed/requested. On arrival the set up was better than we could have imagined! Quiet, private, relaxed, clean, stunning views, surrounded by wildlife, friendly staff and free to do and to go where we wanted, when we wanted. Very nice cottages with a true African design, a lovely kitchen, braai area, and a wonderful lounge area with an amazing view on the river. We were seeking a place away from the busy tourism area, where we would not come across any other vehicles and where we could plan our days without any obligations. We found exactly that and more at Malama Umoyo. I would recommend this to all who are keen for a true African self-catering bush experience. Our private guide Nicholas, whom we had booked for a full day safari in the national park, showed the unspoiled wilderness of South Luangwa where we came across lion, elephant, giraffe and plenty of other game. We did not come across any other vehicles on our 10 hour trip, fantastic!!” (Annekim, Hoedspruit, RSA)
(PH, Veldhoven, NL).
